RE: Estimate ES013464

I am incredibly disappointed with the moving service I received for my scheduled move on December 23, 2025. What should have been a straightforward move turned into a frustrating and stressful experience.

I scheduled with Cedric to move a piano on 12/23/25 for 12-3PM at my apartment complex. They came up at 5:29PM, one minute before the office closed. In total they took 30 minutes to move it to the final location. They charged me over $600 dollars for a service they performed outside the time frame we agreed upon

I filed a complaint with Cassie on December 26, who promised to address my concerns with a follow up call, but after 3 weeks later, I had to initiate a call back for a resolution. The real issue started with the lack of communication with Cedric, who would not answer or return my calls for their tardiness. This timing was crucial since it was the last day of my apartment lease, and the office closed at 5:30 PM. I ended up getting charged an extra day for not moving out on time.

Even follow up correspondence with Judith, their Client Experience Manager, was unsuccessful. Their solution was to refund $50, the deposit I paid to make the appointment. This amount doesn't even cover the additional day I had to pay my landlord for their delay.

While I understand that delays can happen, the total lack of communication and the unprofessionalism shown by Muscular Moving Men is unacceptable. This experience caused me significant stress and left me with extra costs I shouldn't have had to pay. I would not recommend this service to anyone.

TLDR. I paid over $600 for a simple move between 12-3PM but they came unprofessionally late, causing extra stress and charges.

Love these guys

I chose Muscular Moving Men because I knew I had to be out of one house weeks before I could move into my new house and I knew they would store everything. The guys that came and picked everything up were efficient and took great care with our furniture. James, Mel and Juan delivered it to my new home. They were super professional and nice too. The guys listened and made sure the furniture was placed exactly where I wanted. I felt more like they were family than contractors.

Extremely Disappointed: Lost, Damaged Items and Shipment Sent to Wrong

If I could give zero stars, I would. This company is a nightmare! They completely failed to deliver on time, and to make matters worse, they only delivered half of my belongings. The other half was sent to a different state, and I'm still waiting for it to show up after 10 days.

When they finally delivered part of my stuff, it was in terrible condition. Items were broken, the TV wasn't even packed in a box, and several pieces of furniture were missing. The level of care was absolutely appalling.

I've tried speaking with the Operations Manager, David A., and the General Manager, David Orla, but neither has had the decency to return my calls. Instead, they advised me to use their laughable insurance policy of $0.60 per pound. This is a complete joke, especially since half of my items are still missing!

To top it all off, they've already charged my credit card in full, despite failing to deliver what I paid for. This company is nothing but a scam. Do yourself a favor and stay far, far away from these crooks. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Muscular moving team of three

Muscular movers were efficient , friendly, and prompt. The movers took time and asked questions to make sure I was happy with process. They were hard workers, never taking a break , starting at 7:30am until 5:30pm until the move was completed.

The men moved specialty furniture, piano and antique organ and took great care to make sure they were packed well to prevent damage. They also asked how I wanted the storage facility locker to be filled with all of my house goods, bikes, boxes, patio sets, tables, china cabinet , and bedroom furniture.

Would use this company again.

Thank you,

Nancy

Apartment move

Excellent all the way around from communication to the moving men themselves. A couple scratched broken items. To be expected.

My critique would be the final cost. Came out to be $282 per hour. This in my opinion is price coughing to the extreme. As I was recovering from a surgery and required a quick move from 3rd floor to 1st floor within the same complex fairly quickly I went for the high estimate, which was two hours short of the time spent. Of course raising the total.

Understandable as no one can guess precisely.

If I win the Lottery, I'd use Muscular Moving again. As they were overall excellent. Unfortunately until that happens I'd be forced to search out more affordable options in future.

Do not recommend

Mixed reviews for this company and will not use again. I chose the company because they included shuttles in the estimate. They said that other companies would not include shuttles, then would overcharge. My driver only used one shuttle, so I ended up paying $900 for nothing. The client pays whether drivers need the shuttles or not. I thought the company was being transparent and fair, but they ended up overcharging me. Communications were a challenge during the move as well, with different information given by the driver and two different managers about the delivery date. Nice people, bad service.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $8000

Official company response

Hello Anne,

Thank you for sharing your feedback, and I’m truly sorry to hear about your experience. It’s clear that we fell short in several areas, and I regret that this led to frustration and disappointment during your move.

We strive to be transparent and fair with our estimates, so it's concerning to hear that you felt overcharged, especially regarding the shuttle fees. I apologize for the confusion and the impact this had on your overall experience.

I’m also sorry to hear that communication during your move was inconsistent and added to the challenges you faced. We know how important clear communication is, especially during something as significant as a move, and it’s disheartening that we let you down in this regard.

While I’m glad you found our team to be friendly, it’s clear that our service did not meet your expectations, and for that, I am sincerely sorry. We are taking your feedback seriously and will be looking into how we can improve our processes to prevent situations like this from happening in the future.

If there’s anything more we can do to make this right, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Horrible

I would never use them again. At the start, it’s all great. Our salesman Nick was nice, gave us a big spiel about why they are more expensive and why we should never use a “moving broker”. So we believed him. They sent us a contract to sign, we paid the deposit, and then they pretty much disappeared. Our “moving coordinator” Carlos was incompetent and rude. The drivers were supposed to call us the day before pickup to confirm but didn’t. We emailed Carlos and he assured us he would ask the driver to contact us right away. Heard nothing. Called back the next day, emailed Carlos again. Got nothing. Called into their customer service number to see if were even still on for the move. Lady told us “the crew hasn’t left the warehouse yet but will call you when they leave so you can meet them at the storage unit”. Crickets. An hour outside our pickup window we get a call from the original salesman that our crew is waiting for us at the unit and they apparently couldn’t get a hold of us because they didn’t have the right number. As in…. the number you’re calling me on right now?!? We had to drop everything and run over there. 3 young guys loaded the van, pretty efficient, done in an hour. Our delivery window in Ohio was 7 days, the emailed and scheduled for the 3rd. We take a day off and wait… nothing. Emailed Carlos again to confirm and get told “we had some unexpected delays over the weekend and now your delivery will be the 5th. So we lost a full day income taking the day off for nothing. Then…. We get a call from our actual delivery driver the morning of the 4th that he is in Chicago with our load and on his way to Ohio. No prior warning, no communication, no nothing. Carlos dropped off the face of the earth of course. We had to drop everything and scramble to meet the movers at the house. They start unloading and none of our stuff was packaged as promised. Broken arm chair, broken floor lamp, 6 broken TVs (none of them boxed), boxes all dented and dashed in, every moving bin had its lid broken and crumbled. Worst of all was that our pair of brand new white couches were not shrink-wrapped properly before being wrapped in dirty moving blankets and got completely trashed: black grease stains all over and the arm fabric was torn. We sustained probably over $2000 worth of damage. Stay far, far, far away from these people, they wouldn’t be worth it at a discount and they are certainly not worth it at the premium they charge. Would never use again.

Please reach out to us directly, and we’d be happy to work with you on submitting a claim for the damaged items. Seven Hours Late- Just to Start

We made the mistake of trusting Muscular Moving Men to move us from Lake Havasu City to Litchfield Park. When they failed to arrive by the designated arrival time (0730-0930)that we confirmed the previous work day, we called only to be told there was no truck on the way, that THE single qualified semi driver called in sick. They didn’t call us when they knew there was an issue with the 53’ truck and 4 movers that our contract included, we had to call them. They didn’t have a backup plan, but scrambled to patch together two smaller 26’ freight trucks (instead of dedicated moving trucks)and a crew of 4, including at least two who had completed other moves that morning.

We were given updated arrival times of “we don’t know “, 1PM, then 3PM… The first truck arrived at about 4 in the afternoon. In the 7 hours we waited, we moved every box and any furniture that we could into the garage in the hopes of speeding up the loading process. The crew that did arrive worked hard and efficiently, but expressed concern that all our items may not fit in the two smaller trucks. The first truck was packed very tightly, and as the evening wore on, the crews worked faster, resulting in some accidental damage to the stucco on our soon to be former home. Things happen, but because it was so late by the time I discovered(it wasn’t brought to my attention when it happened)the hole in the house (9PM) there was no time to attempt a repair, so I had to hire a stucco company to fix it ($250). The trucks were finally loaded and on the road at 10PM.

Consequentially, as a result of the space concerns, the long day the crew faced, and the hurried pace, we had 2 55” TVs destroyed, a sofa sleeper damaged (probably what went through the wall), a dining room chair damaged, a few plates and glasses broken, in addition to the stucco damage, and the insurance company offered a criminally ridiculous settlement of $82…The standard insurance is based on the weight of the damaged items, not the value -another lesson learned. We have never had so much as a single glass broken in several previous moves with other companies.

The initial contract not only included the large moving truck, but also included mattress bags (didn’t have them, and they did remove that cost, but only after I told them the mattresses were wrapped in plastic, not bagged), but also promised TV boxes for each TV. The boxes they used for the TVs looked like they had been used at least a dozen times previously. They were worn out, flimsy and didn’t include the foam reinforced corners that typically come with real TV boxes. If I had known they use recycled garbage to “protect” our TVs, I would have gladly purchased my own unused boxes.

In numerous phone conversations with our customer service rep Arthur, he was very apologetic, and tried to make things better, but all of the issues we experienced began with not having a backup plan for an ill employee, a single point of failure. I even spoke briefly with Josh, who I was told is one of the owners. He was also was very apologetic, and took ownership for the terrible experience. They discounted the original contract, but I wasn’t looking for a deal, but rather what was promised and agreed upon.

On the move-in day, the first truck showed up on time, but I was told the other truck would be delayed because that driver called in sick. Eventually, everything got unloaded, just for good measure, the stucco got a small amount of damage near the front door of our new home too. I discovered the two TVs were broken (physical damage to the frames and screens, resulting in lines and blank spots on the displays), the sofa damage, the broken kitchen items, and the dining chair damage.

But they weren’t done making this move more difficult than imagined, the hardware for our master bed was missing, so it could not be put together. The one thing most of us want to do on move in day…sleeping in your own bed, didn’t happen. Once again, they fell short. I was able to order the missing hardware, and a few days later, all was good.

The final kicker is the $82 insurance settlement offer for 2 55” Samsung TVs, the sofa sleeper, the stucco repair ($250 invoice sent with the claim) and dining chair.

While things do happen, employees call in sick, etc..this company failed time and time again because there was no backup plan, and they failed to call when the problem started, leaving us hanging. The late start and tired crew most likely contributed to everything that followed.

I would recommend finding another mover to handle your next move.
